DREAMLIFE ZINE VOL. 2
A magazine dedicated to celebrating trans youths and the progress towards liberation.
The Role
As part of the Editorial Committee, I had a variety of responsibilities, including providing work, selecting contributors, selecting designers and researching distribution.
I did two major projects associated with DREAMLIFE:
Research into accessibility, audience, accuracy & distribution
The production of FLATMATES: The TTRPG
Distribution Research
Distribution Research
The report investigates how to make Trans literature accessible to Trans readers. What accessibility looks like for these audiences? What media to Trans people look at for representation? What allows for accurate storytelling?
FLATMATES: THE TTRPG
FLATMATES: THE TTRPG
Based on the previous research, I discovered that Trans youth gravitate towards storytelling games for great representation because each player has a unique perspective on their gender representation.
The aim of FLATMATES is two-fold:
The game facilitates unique gender presentation. No aspect of character relies on gender, physicality, or sexuality so players are free to explore it whatever way they see fit.
The game encourages conversations about open communication. Framed around a group of ‘flatmates’, it sets the groundwork for teaching people how to advocate for their own needs, while also understanding and accommodating others’ needs.
